Rachael Conrad Cox is co-author with Dale Cox of the book, "Fowltown," which describes the 1817 spark that ignited a forty-year war on the Southern frontier. She talks with Carolyn Hutcheson of the In Focus Storyline book series about the Fowltown Lower Creek Indian community in southwest Georgia and the fight to withstand white encroachment. In the Seminole wars that followed, the Indians
never surrendered.

Author Neal Wooten shares his family story with Carolyn Hutcheson of In Focus for The Storyline book series.  His book is, "With the Devil's Help, A True Story of Poverty, Mental Illness, and Murder." Wooten's grandfather was sent to Kilby Prison for murdering hisson-in-law in 1962, but he escaped and  was hunted by law enforcement for the rest of his life.  The family lived on Sand Mountain in northeast Alabama.

Tim Emmons, Reader Advisor and Senior Librarian at the APLS Regional Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled, shares his personal story with Carolyn Hutcheson of In Focus.  In the 1990s, Tim was a member of the University of Alabama Million Dollar Marching Band, and football fans probably had no idea he was blind.

Gorham Bird, Assistant Professor of Architecture at Auburn University, talks with Carolyn Hutcheson of In Focus about efforts to partner with communities to secure grants to stabilize and preserve the structures. The Alabama Department of Archives and History is featuring an exhibit, "History Lives On: Preserving Alabama's Rosenwald Schools," which can be viewed through May 2024.
