Elaine Greene, one ot the three Freeport Flag Ladies from Maine, talks with Carolyn Hutcheson, In Focus host, about their patriotic project to wave flags every Tuesday for eighteen years, in honor of the victims of the World Trade Center attack.  The ladies served military personnel and their families with care packages, visits to greet them at the airport, visits to wounded troops, and attendance at funerals.  Upon their "2019 retirement," due to age and infirmity, Wreaths Across America picked up their cause for 9/11 and the laying of wreaths at cemeteries across the country on  Dec. 19, to honor our fallen heroes.  The Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo will participate on Dec. 19, 2021.

Karen Worcester is co-founder of Wreaths Across America, a nonprofit that works with Gold Star families to honor the fallen in national and international cemeteries.  She talks with In Focus host Carolyn Hutcheson about plans to wave the American flag on Tues., Sept. 7, in observance of Sept. 11, 2001, when airline hijackers attacked the United States.  The Freeport Flag Ladies waved the American flag on that fateful Tuesday at passing motorists in Maine and continued the tradition for 18 years, before merging with Wreaths Across America.
