In Focus with Carolyn Hutcheson

Poet Jeanie Thompson, Executive Director of the Alabama Writers' Forum, talks with Carolyn Hutcheson, In Focus host, about the life of Helen Keller.  Thompson studied Keller's life for a decade and then wrote the book, "The Myth of Water, Poems from the Life of Helen Keller."  Today the poet shares stories of Keller's activism that drew worldwide attention.

Professor Kirk Curnutt, Chair of the Troy University English Department, introduces acclaimed writer Michelle Richmond and student Alexis Ellison, who talk with Carolyn Hutcheson, In Focus host, about the Hall-Waters Prize, which will be awarded to Michelle on April 14th.  The ceremony has been planned entirely by students in Professor Curnutt's English seminar.

In this third of a three-part series, Dr. Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mohandas "Mahatma" Gandhi, talks with Carolyn Hutcheon, In Focus host, about his grandfather's views of religion and the separation of India and Pakistan when British colonial rule ended in 1947.  Dr. Gandhi is the author of several books - "The Gift of Anger and Other Lessons from My Grandfather" and "Legacy of Love, My Education in the Path of Nonviolence."
